Beautiful, lasting landscapes are achieved through the successful integration of horticultural knowledge, design creativity and experience.

Ms. Green’s professional experience includes landscape architecture, urban design, environmental study and planning. She has been a consultant to leading design firms in San Francisco such as EDAW and Landor Associates since 1987 and opened her first landscape architectural studio in Marin in January of 1994. She has lived full time in Truckee since 2000 and served as Partner at LJM , designing municipal and residential projects throughout Northern California, Truckee and Lake Tahoe.

Ms. Green graduated from California Polytechnic State University in San Luis Obispo in 1987 where she received a Bachelors of Science in Landscape Architecture. Before graduating she was selected to study urban design in Florence, Italy and returned following graduation to work in Milan. She has designed large scale commercial developments as well as residential gardens in Marin, Nevada, Placer, San Jose, San Mateo, San Fransisco,and Santa Barbara counties. She received a Certificate of merit from the American Society of Landscape Garden Show as well as Tahoe Quarterly Magazine’s “Best of Tahoe”.

As an Horticulturalist, Ms. Green has been associated with the California Native Plants Society, Strybing Arboretum Society, Saratoga Horticultural Foundation, and the American Horticultural Society. She has taught landscape architecture and design for the Horticulture departments at the City College of San Francisco (1992-1993), College of Marin (1994) and U.C Berkeley Extension (1998-2000). She has served on the committee for ecological home Landscaping sponsored by U.C Davis (1993). As a graduate of Forum XXII, Janet completed the Environmental Forum of Marin (1995). Ms. Green is a registered Landscape Architect in the state of California.

Her work has been published in Tahoe Quarterly, The Northwoods Magazine, Northern California Home and Design, San Francisco Chronicle and the Marin Independent Journal.
